2023年12月23日 · I just received the GTMEDIA X1 ATSC 3.0 tuner box. For the most part my ATSC 3.0 with and without DRM works well. The DVR and EPG functions are still beta (similar to ADTH). I will be testing a new unit with a Sony tuner chip next week. ATSC 3.0 DRM works great without internet.

The tuner will not automatically choose the 1.0 channel if it fails to decode the 3.0 channel, you would have to manually select the 1.0 channel.

The rollout of ATSC 3.0 has been slow, and only a handful of TVs currently include ATSC 3.0 tuners—let alone proper support for Broadcast Apps. I believe this is partly due to the FCC not setting a firm deadline for the sunset of ATSC 1.0.

2019年4月10日 · The benefit is 4K OTA programming, or 1080p programming if the broadcaster decides to go that route. Current ATSC 1.0 1080i/720p broadcasts might actually decrease in quality due to bandwidth constraints. I think Tivo/Arris will eventually release an OTA DVR with native ATSC 3.0 support, but this works in the meantime I guess.
