SWP 2002 is the Power for this unpowered SD40-2 "shell." The SD40-2 has had parts of the hood removed as well as extensions added to the walkways to aid in filming in cab and walkway shots. AWVR 1206 is an AWVR (Allegheny & West Virginia Railroad) EMD SD40-2 diesel locomotive in the 2010 action/thriller movie, Unstoppable, that encountered and chased after the runaway AWVR 777. It's crew were none other than 28-year veteran Frank Barnes , as the engineer and Will Colson as the rookie train conductor.

Not sure what the story is here, but one of the boxcars lettered for the movie is seen sitting on a flatcar minus it's trucks. They look real, but these are actually 1:1 scale models of SD40-2s. I have no idea what the crane like attachment is on 7346.

2011年2月2日 · Perhaps AWVR built some of their fleet 'in-house' under license from GE, or the AC4250s are AWVR-rebuilds of AC4400s. After all, they have an SD40 crusing around that's rated for 5000hp - I'd love to see the prime mover they fitted into that baby!

2012年1月6日 · We will start off with AWVR 1206-1. The locomotive was built as Kansas City Southern SD40-2 #664 and carries serial #73658-1 and was built in January of 1984. She is an EMD SD40-2. There is a bit of a goof in the movie, as Denzel claims that the locomotive has 5,000 Horsepower. This is not true, as the EMD SD40-2 is only rated for 3,000 HP.
