The Bass Clef is used to show notes that are generally played with the left hand. The notes on the bass clef are usually found on the middle to left side of the keyboard.

ACEG - All cows eat grass works, I learned it as ACE gorilla. Those are for the spaces in between the lines. So you end up with GABCDEFGA. A being the space on the bottom, G being the space on the top. Further to the answer above, don't forget the missing 'middle C', which floats in between the two staves.

Just play with note identification exercise until you memorize whatever range you need. They also offer an iOS app with these exercises for couple bucks.
