The ACMAT VLRA (Véhicule de Liaison de Reconnaissance et d'Appui or Liaison, Reconnaissance, and Support Vehicle), a tactical vehicle produced by ACMAT, was launched during 1967, it was characterised by its robustness. It could transport 2.5 tonnes of payload, a maximum range of 1,600 km and a water tank with a capacity of 200lt.

ACMAT has also proposed that the VLRB could be expanded to a complete family of vehicles including a troop carrier (crew of two and eight fully equipped troops), load carrier and weapons carrier armed with 81 mm mortar or various types of anti-tank guided weapon.

The VLRB TCM 420 BL6 is a 4x4 armored liaison and reconnaissance vehicle featuring outstanding armor protection over VLRA 4x4 vehicles. ACMAT developed the VLRB based on the VLRA 4x4. The vehicle's armor can withstand the impact of a 7.62mm ballistic projectile at 30 meters (STANAG protection level 1).

The TPK 420 BL armoured personnel carrier was developed as a private venture by Ateliers de Construction Mécanique de l'Atlantique (ACMAT) and is essentially the well-known VLRA (4 × 4) 2,500 kg long-range reconnaissance vehicle fitted with an armoured body.

Since 1965 the production of the main conventional series was continued under the name ALM-ACMAT. The first time in production was the TF model with a Ford engine and the TPK model with a Perkins engine. The range included many different models with 4x4 and 6x6 axle configurations and GVW from 6.5 to 12 tonnes.
