The African bullfrog (Pyxicephalus adspersus), also known as the giant bullfrog or the South African burrowing frog, is a species of frog in the family Pyxicephalidae. It is also known as the pixie frog due to its scientific name.

The African bullfrog is one of the largest species of frog, second only to the endangered West African goliath frog (Conraua goliath). Male African bullfrogs are much larger than the females and can weigh as much as 2 kg (4 pounds) and can grow as long as 25.5 cm (10 inches).
