Al2O3 is Corundum structured and crystallizes in the trigonal R-3c space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Al3+ is bonded to six equivalent O2- atoms to form a mixture of corner, edge, and face-sharing AlO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 48–60°.

2021年2月15日 · Optical microscopy, synchrotron-based X-ray micro-computed tomography (SR-μCT) examination and density measurement reveals that the bulk Al 2 O 3 structures built on Ti–6Al–4V substrate have lower defects (porosity and cracks) and higher relative density (RD) = 85% than that fabricated on the alumina substrate (RD = 70%).
