ARR #1050A and 1050B were the prototype tests for the the following production of the ARR Class RF1 ALCO Locomotives. Army surplus ALCO RSD1 locomotives USA 8040 and 8054 were rebuilt by International Car Co. of Kenton, Ohio and delivered in October of 1947.

2023年6月2日 · The RSD-1 accomplished two improvements: 1) more tractive effort, and 2) less weight per axle (for use on lighter rails). At the same time, the 1,000 HP was spread over 6 motors/axles in lieu of 4, so speed and acceleration decreased. 2005年2月16日 · My local area railroad (Atlanta and St. Andrew’s Bay aka the Bayline) donated one of their old locomotives awhile back to our Jr. Museum. I contacted the rail management company and was told that it was an Alco RF1 model. Does anyone know if any of the model companys have ever made an RF1 model in HO scale?
