2007年5月27日 · I think people often use them interchangeably, Tom, but I would tend to use "all year round" for repeating cycles while "all year long" could be used for a single year. "The weather is mild and pleasant here all year round." (repeating) "I didn't enjoy class the first day of school, and I felt the same all year long." (single year)

'Opened' would be a verb, appropriate for describing the action: the hotel bar was opened every day at nine o'clock. Someone does something to it (unlocks it, etc.). After it has been opened at 9.00, it is now open for the rest of the day.

2012年6月27日 · Obviously round survives as an adjective (a round table), while about survives as a preposition in abstract cases (a book about something). PS Looking at threads 15 and 16 I'd say that "she stands round" is wrong because "she stands around" is an evolution from "she stands about" (here and there).
