Jul 11, 2013 · I have a windows 7 machine and was informed by my computer that it was infected with alureon. It did not show up on scans by norton Internet security. I then ran malawarebytes and superantispyware-- did not show on either of these...I ran the kapersky tdsskiller program which said that Alureon was present and then removed it.

Dec 20, 2011 · Alureon is a rootkit and that's not good. Rootkits may morph and change identity on your OS and are difficult to locate and remove and many IT professionals recommend a reinstall of the OS to ensure the rootkit is removed.

I did everything under the sun and I "think" I was able to remove it. Ran Malwarebytes, Spyhunter4, and numerous other. Is the above entry still part of the virus? I'm unable to delete it manually.
