Hornady AMAX VS Sierra Matchking 168GR | Sniper's Hide Forum
Jun 15, 2011 · Re: Hornady AMAX VS Sierra Matchking 168GR The AMAX line of bullets are very accurate. In the 168s the AMAX gives you a little better BC too. Buy a box and give them a try. You should be able to use the same load as the 168 SMK. My 178 AMAX load is the same as the load I used to use with the 175 SMK.

Hornady ELD M vs A MAX - Sniper's Hide
Dec 16, 2022 · They have a different tip material and were redesigned when changing to the ELD-M line so you get a higher BC from that. The 168 ELD-M is a much better long range bullet. The limited AMAX bullets of any caliber are around mostly for …
Terminal Performance? - Hornady's New ELD Match vs. Old A-Max
Jan 4, 2017 · I see this issue on Amax and ELD match bullets was talked about in January but thought I would add my two cents, Rt2506 is right on when he says Amax bullets was listed as hunting bullets. I think they may have changed the classification to sell the newer bullet styles , anyways I have never used the match ELD bullets but have tried the new ELD ...
Advice: A-Max in .300 Win Mag - Long Range Hunting Forum
Jan 11, 2006 · I haven´t used the amax in a 30 cal, just in a 7 rm. Out of those two I´d go with the heavier Amax, it is a light construction bullet and with the 168 I´d say you run a bigger risk of an externally exploding bullet not penetrating enough. The 162 7 cal. has performed well in mt goats from close range out to 500 m.

155gr Amax 308 - Long Range Hunting Forum
IMR 4064 with the 155 in the .308 here. Getting great accuracy and velocity from a 20" barrel. Of course doing all the standard accuracy loading procedures and using Lapua brass and match primers. The AMAX's are devastating on whistle pigs. Found one hit with a 168 gr. AMAX out of my '06 10 ft and inside out from the impact position!
A-Max Vs A-Max Vs V-Max - Long Range Hunting Forum
Aug 11, 2014 · The 75 grain AMAX is THE bullet to have, IMO. It has been very popular and won't be going away. Yes, it is hard to obtain right now, but that won't last forever. The AMAX won't be a flat shooter from your .223. Its primary advantage will be in wind drift. Because of that, I would say to have your turret set up for the 75 AMAX, your preferred ...
Hornady 208gr AMAX For Hunting - Long Range Hunting Forum
Jun 30, 2013 · I've shot a lot of game with a variety of amaxs including the 208. I don't recommend them for mature thick skinned large boned male mammals that's for sure but for up to large mule deer and caribou, they're awesome. Many 'match' bullets are very unpredictable on game. The amax is very predictable. It expands very rapidly on skin, flesh or bone.
Hornady 208gr HPBT Match vs. 208gr A-Max | Sniper's Hide Forum
Oct 3, 2010 · .208 Amax is .648 per Hornady. Ive been working on my 300 Win Mag load for the .208 Amax for about a month or so now and it absolutely shoots the lights out in my stock Sendero .300 Win Mag,had to run a pretty intense ladder and alot of subsequent testing but finally found the node and it got real tight right away.
