The A-7D is a single-seat, tactical close air support aircraft. Although designed primarily as a ground attack aircraft, it also can be used in air-to-air combat. It was derived from the basic A-7 originally developed for the U.S. Navy.

The LTV A-7 Corsair II is an American carrier-capable subsonic light attack aircraft designed and manufactured by Ling-Temco-Vought (LTV). The A-7 was developed during the early 1960s as replacement for the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk.

2015年9月9日 · I’m in the process of building out an A-7D in a Colorado ANG scheme (circa 1981) and I’m wondering if A-7D’s typically carried GBU-15s? The kit is actually the Hobby Boss A-7E but it contains the neccessary parts to build it as a D variant (basically the same bird with a different engine and a few extra pods on the belly).

With the end of the Vietnam War, Air National Guard (ANG) units began receiving active-duty A-7D aircraft in 1974, beginning with the Colorado, New Mexico and Ohio ANG. South Carolina and Puerto Rico received aircraft in 1975.

166 TFS A-7D at Gunsmoke 91'. The unit, not suprisingy, used SLUFF for their callsign during the competition. Three Corsairs of the Ohio ANG around 1986 (exact year needs confirmation). Exercise Creek Corsair brought Corsairs of several units to Spangdahlem in the summer of 1988.

2014年10月5日 · Top speed for the A-7D was 698 mph and the normal cruising speed was 507 mph. Deliveries of the A-7D began during September of 1969. The A-7D saw its first combat use with the 354th Tactical Fighter Wing based at Korat Royal Thai Air Base, Thailand. The A-7Ds flew strikes against targets in Laos, Cambodia and North Vietnam.
