2022年4月22日 · Anyone who knew Dr. Steve Ross, director of the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Lester E. Fisher Center for the Study and Conservation of Apes in Chicago, would surely describe him as a bold fighter for a better world for great apes. With his passing, the great ape advocacy community has lost one of its greatest champions.

2017年6月9日 · The zoo brought in primatologist Steve Ross to develop the Regenstein Center for African Apes, one of the finest of its kind and a groundbreaking habitat for gorillas and chimpanzees. He still works at the zoo as the Director of the Lester E. Fisher Study and Conservation of Apes. Ross had not worked in zoos at all before coming onto the project.

Fisher Center scientists actively contribute to the study of primates (monkeys and apes). They approach their research with a comparative perspective—often conducting parallel studies with the gorillas, chimpanzees, and Japanese macaques at Lincoln Park Zoo— and prioritize studies that keep the primates’ natural social groups together at all times.

2010年7月7日 · Behavioral data indicated species-specific reactions to the holding area, including increased aggression and self-directed behavior by chimpanzees and increased activity and prosocial behavior among gorilla subjects. Both species showed more feeding-foraging behavior while in the exhibit enclosure.

2014年1月30日 · Ross is right because the original 1933 King Kong was a giant ape from an island with other large creatures. He had strength relative to his size. No other abilities and what not like Japanese kaiju with with fire breath, laser beams, and so on. However, Arin is also right because he can be called a kaiju in a general sense of the term.
