Die AWO 425 ist ein Motorradmodell mit Viertaktmotor, das in der DDR in zwei Versionen gebaut wurde. Die Motorräder wurden in dem Awtowelo- bzw. späteren IFA-Betrieb Simson im thüringischen Suhl gefertigt.

The Simson Awo 425 S was a Single Cylinder Naked motorcycle produced by Simson in 1955. Claimed horsepower was 11.94 HP (8.9 KW) @ 5500 RPM. A 68.6mm bore x 68.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 248.0 cubic centimeters. The bike has a 4-Speed transmission. It came with a 3.25-19 front tire and a 3.25-19 rear tire.

The AWO 425 was a shaft driven, 250cc four-stroke. There were two main AWO 425 models; the T (touring model) had plunger rear suspension, while the S (sport model) had a twin-shock swingarm rear suspension.

Bereits 1956 wurde die AWO 425 S (Sport) auf der Leipziger Messe vorgestellt und ab 1957 in Suhl produziert. Die Motorleistung der S stieg gegenüber der ursprünglichen 425, die nun Touring hieß und mit einem T gekennzeichnet wurde, von 12 PS bei 5500 U/min. auf 14 PS bei 6300 U/min. und ab 1959 sogar auf 15,5 PS.
