2020年4月9日 · The Boeing 717, or MD-95 as it was first known, was designed to be an update of the popular DC-9 aircraft built by McDonell Douglas in the 1960s. However, it was re-branded as the 717-200 to bring it into line with the rest of Boeing's products.

The Boeing 717 was designed and managed by John Wolf and Jim Phillips starting in 1996 as the MD-95 and became a new twinjet airliner. It has two engines, which means that it is a twinjet. It also only has two columns of seats, which makes it a narrow-body plane.

The 100-seat Boeing 717-200 twinjet was designed specifically for short-range, high-frequency flights. The aircraft was first rolled out on 10 June 1998 and its maiden flight was completed on 2 September 1998.

The 100 seat 717 is the latest development of the popular DC-9/MD-80/MD-90 family and the only Douglas airliner which Boeing (which merged with McDonnell Douglas in 1997) plans to retain in its product line-up. It is designed for high cycle, short range regional airline operations.
