2018年10月19日 · It will definitely be easier if the engine you purchase is the same as the one in your CR-V, since that would allow you to just swap in the new engine and all the connections would be the same. I'm sure you'll find that the ECU (aka computer) is different, and you'll need one from a 1999-2001 CR-V that is also a manual transmission.

2014年6月15日 · B20Z = USDM engine, that has the large baffle/chamber on top of the intake manifold. Even CRVs made in Japan, for USDM markets, often had these engines in them all the way to 2001. (like mine did) B20B = JDM engine, can be found in USDM CRVs, but often must be imported from Asia. Higher compression and makes ~10 more horsepower.

2019年12月9日 · It's my understanding that the B20 engine in the 2001 and earlier CR-Vs is an 'interference' engine, which means it's possible that a broken timing belt could cause a piston to hit a valve. Done and Gone.

2018年3月25日 · Not familiar with the B20, but on other makes the engine needs to be in a specific spot in the rotation when checking tension. Can you link to specific methods on the Honda engine? These days, many TBs can be checked with a smartphone by use of a guitar tuning app....a certain frequency is desired on a designated spot on the timing belt.

2018年10月10日 · The K series engines would not easily fit, and if I remember correctly they rotate in the opposite direction that the B20 does. The easiest swap would be another B20 engine from a 1999-2001 CR-V. The 1997-1998 B20s have less power. Good luck.

2021年8月14日 · Adding a shot of engine oil will do for the wet test. Wet #s should be higher if it's all good. 150 seem a bit low but on a positive note, they are very close to each other which is a good thing. As long as you are not losing too much engine oil it's OK. But if they test low again consider saving up a bit for either a rebuild engine or a swap. Gl
