The BMW M30 is a SOHC straight-six petrol engine which was produced from 1968 to 1995. With a production run of 27 years, it is BMW's longest produced engine and was used in many car models. The first models to use the M30 engine were the BMW 2500 and 2800 sedans.

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The initial model was available in a coupé body style, with a convertible body style made available soon after.

2022年10月10日 · The BMW M3 GT was a limited edition, high performance variant of the E36 BMW 3 Series that was offered for the 1995 model year. Created to homologate the M3 for use in the FIA GT race series, the M3 GT was only available in a coupe body style that was painted in British Racing Green with a black leather interior trimmed with green accents.

Fitted with BMW's S14 inline 4 engine, the M3 featured an improved drivetrain as well as a wider track width. Not only mechanically different from the standard model, the E30 M3 featured vastly restyled panels and bumpers, with only a few panels being shared with the standard car.
