GP38-2 2379 was built as Toledo, Peoria and Western 2008 in October 1978 and GP39E 2917 was formerly Burlington Northern GP35 2533 and built as Chicago, Burlington and Quincy 987 in May 1964. A Burlington Northern unit, still unpatched 10 years after the merger, brings freight into Northtown Yard.

The former BN GP39E's, GP39M's and GP39V's will likely have a longer lifespan on the railroad being that these units were given a complete rebuild from GP30's and GP35's into a locomotive that is equivalent to a GP39-2 with the exception that the units have a 16 cylinder engine upgraded with 645 power assemblies versus a 12 cylinder prime mover ...

2021年5月17日 · Looking at Google’s cache of the roster page for the EMD rebuilt GP39E’s at the excellent (And now apparently offline) Burlington Northern roster at Trainpix.com, shows these two rebuilds as BN BN 2761 and BN 2762. What’s interesting is that they’re immediately followed by 18 units of Southern Railway heritage.
