2020年7月3日 · Locomotive builder, General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division, was specifically offering a new SDP35 for railroads facing similar circumstances wherein the need to replace old pre-War cab units existed. The use of the dual service locomotive permitted the railroad to use it in both passenger and freight service as needed.

2022年3月31日 · The EMD SD35 was introduced in 1964 as a replacement for the SD24, making a direct transition from the first-generation carbody introduced with the SD7 to the newer design introduced a few months earlier with the GP35.

The EMD SD35 is a model of 6-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between June 1964 and January 1966. Power was provided by an EMD 567D3A, 16-cylinder engine which generated 2,500 brake horsepower (1,900 kW). A 3,000-US-gallon (11,000 L; 2,500 imp gal) fuel tank was used on this unit.

On my visit to Centralia in 1981 Southern ran the most trains, as some of ICG’s used the low-grade Edgewood Cutoff through Bluford to the east. Unfortunately I didn’t shoot much BN here except an occasional SD9 banging across.
