Mainly built for a special request from Santa Fe/BNSF, the SD75Ms are slightly more powerful than SD70Ms, having horsepower ratings between 4,300 hp (3,200 kW) & 4500 hp. They are almost identical to SD70Ms, but can be distinguished by the added bulge below the inertial air-intake on the right side of the unit.

2013年1月24日 · The 51 SD75Ms which were the last new locomotives received by AT&SF before the merger are being returned at the end of their lease from Bank of America. They are being sent to NRE at Silvis, IL until BofA decides what to do with them. The remaining SD75Ms and SD75Is are in storage on BNSF until their leases expire.
