1466 - Preserved British Steam Locomotives
1466 was withdrawn from service in 2000 due to the condition of its foundation ring and is now in the queue for its third major overhaul in preservation. Mechanically the engine is in reasonable condition, but it is known that a new backplate, firebox side plating and possibly a new boiler barrel will be needed.

The GWR 1400 Class is a class of steam locomotive designed by the Great Western Railway for branch line passenger work. It was originally classified as the 4800 Class when introduced in 1932, and renumbered in 1946. Although credited to Charles Collett, the design dated back to 1868 with the introduction of the George Armstrong 517 class.

2018年12月15日 · The Didcot Railway Centre has announced that 14XX class 0-4-2 tank engine No 1466 has left the museum. The locomotive left the centre on Monday 3rd December for overhaul at Western Steam Engineering, operated by Ed Freeman. The aim is to complete the overhaul in time for the Great Western Society’s 60th anniversary in 2021.

2022年1月12日 · It's taken a lot longer than originally planned but a fire has been lit in 1466's boiler under going overhaul at the WSR. Hopefully the loco will be back in steam at Didcot in the not too distant future.
