Our Emergency Department provides the most advanced and personalized emergency medical care possible to every patient who comes through our doors. We care for nearly 60,000 patients each year (365 days a year and 24 hours a day), serving people from throughout the city of Boston, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and New England.

Emergency medicine specialists in the Emergency Department at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) provide immediate care for patients 24 hours per day, seven days per week for all types of conditions, from common and life-threatening medical illnesses to traumatic injuries.

Dr. Baugh researches the clinical and administrative aspects of accelerated diagnostic pathways in the ED, focusing on cardiovascular conditions, cancer emergencies, and observation care. In addition to cardiology and observation medicine, Dr. Baugh’s research interests also include healthcare finance, policy, and quality.

Interviews with 30 patients admitted to the Addiction Recovery Program (ARP) and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital (BWFH) provides investigates perceptions towards digital health technologies for AUD treatment, explores the most beneficial aspects, and examines the behaviors each intervention may motivate among individuals with AUD.
