BMZ implements feminist development policy and aims to help overcome colonial continuities and social prejudices towards Africa. BMZ has received needs-based advice on how it can further develop its Africa strategy and coherently organise German development cooperation.

Responding to the reform agenda of international cooperation and the reform efforts of African countries, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) began to adapt its position with regard to key issues of cooperation with Africa in 2004.

It is headquartered in Bonn and Eschborn and provides services in the field of international development cooperation and international education work.

GIZ supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development.
