Brand New Animal (ビー・エヌ・エー) is a one-season anime series by Studio Trigger. In the 21st century, beastmen who had been hidden in the darkness of history began to reveal their existence. One day, Michiru Kagemori suddenly becomes a raccoon beastman. To escape from humans she goes to Beastman Special Zone "Anima City".

During a festival celebrating the town's 10th anniversary, Michiru Kagemori, a human who suddenly turned into a tanuki, finds that Anima City is a far cry from paradise. After witnessing an explosion in the square, she is confronted by Shirou Ogami, a seemingly indestructible wolf and sworn protector of all Beastmen.

Michiru lived life as a normal human, until one day she suddenly turns into a tanuki-human. She runs away and takes refuge in a special city area called "Anima City" that was set up 10 years ago for animal-humans to be able to live as themselves. There Michiru meets Shirou, a wolf-human who hates humans.
