Penang, Malaysia – Bosch, a leading global supplier of technology and services, today officially opened one of the Asia’s most advanced semiconductor backend sites in Penang for the final testing of its automotive chips and sensors. Until the middle of the 2030s, Bosch intends to invest around 350 million EUR (RM1.62 billion) in the site.

Congratulations to Bosch for the first DGNB Platinum certified factory in Southeast Asia! The DGNB certification system is provided by the German Sustainable Building Council and is one of the most comprehensive and developed green building certification systems worldwide.

Bosch is dedicated to improving the sustainability of the company not only through their products but also through environmentally friendly production facilities. Therefore, Bosch has contracted EGS-plan to support the design of a sustainability concept for the building and supervise the implementation from concept to commissioning.

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production to commence in 2023.
