2017年7月2日 · While at the lake my belt broke on my 89 3.0 causing a loss of power steering, alternator, and most importantly the water pump. I immediately went to and searched titles and could not find anything. I am sure the information is there somewhere, but I did not have time to read every post.

2010年6月2日 · Measure the belt pulley width wise and go to napa with the old belt and measurements. Do the pulleys have built up rust in them? This could grind down the belt width. Also look for belt dust. This would be signs of slippage or grinding. Also sounds like the belt is loose. Check for pully alignment with a straigt edge if you can.

2013年7月16日 · Boat started and worked fine for two and a half days and then wouldn't turn over again. So, I lift the engine cover and immediately notice the Alternator belt is broke and laying in the bilge. Luckily I have a spare at camp, so I charge the battery, install the new belt and everything is fine now.

2010年7月26日 · Boat drove fine for the first few outings, but the belt started to squeal at the very end of one trip. I put the boat in again the next day, and sure enough the belt broke on that trip, but not before I noticed several other issues that may or may not all be related.

The most common cause for throwing belts is rusty pulleys, pulleys that are out of alignment, drive accessories that are bad (IE a an alternator with a bad bearing or something similar, and simply the wrong belt.

2019年5月25日 · Took the boat to Ocracoke, after about 6 hours of motor sailing the existing V-belt broke. No screeching, no smoke, no belt dust on the belt; it just broke. I put a spare belt on the engine and continued on to Ocracoke.
