The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ প্রকৌশল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) commonly known by its acronym BUET, is a public technological research university in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh.

Engineering and Technology (BUET). Today about 5500 students are pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in engineering, architecture, planning and science in this institution. At present, BUET has eighteen departments under five faculties and it has six institutes.

Per BUET regulation, the total credit hour requirement for both M.Sc.Engg. andM.Engg. degrees is 36. For the M.Sc. degree, 18 credit hours are for course work (equivalent to 6 courses), and 18 credit hours are for a mandatory thesis.
