Carbon | XPS Periodic Table | Thermo Fisher Scientific - US
Adventitious carbon contamination is commonly used as a charge reference for XPS spectra. C1s spectrum for contamination typically has C-C, C-O-C, and O-C=O components. The C-C component may be set to a binding energy of 284.8eV, by default.
Origins of sp3C peaks in C1s X-ray Photoelectron Spectra of ...
Jun 4, 2016 · In this work, we investigated the effect of charging of diamond on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) as well as adapalene (Figure S7a), which includes sp 3 C (adamantane) bonded with sp 2 C (benzene and naphthalene), using mainly actual XPS analyses and calculated XPS spectra.
A review on C1s XPS-spectra for some kinds of carbon materials
Jul 21, 2020 · The carbon species and banding energies for several typical kinds of carbon materials (graphite, carbon black, graphene, carbon nanotubes, carbides, and polymers) were summarized with typical XPS spectra.
Graphitic/Graphene/Carbon Nanotube C 1s Curve-Fitting
Materials of a graphitic nature (e.g., graphite, graphene, carbon nanotubes etc.) will have a C 1s main peak, attributed to C=C, which can be used as a charge reference set to 284.5 eV. An average of values for graphite from 21 references from the NIST database [1] is 284.46 eV with a standard deviation of 0.14 eV.
