The Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) C151 is the first generation electric multiple unit (EMU) rolling stock in operation on the North–South and East–West lines of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system, manufactured by a consortium led by Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) under Contract 151.

The C151A trains are the third commuter type Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) to feature electric systems fully manufactured by Fuji Electric. Propulsion is controlled by VVVF Inverter with 2-level IGBT semiconductor controller, rated at 415 kV. Each inverter unit controls two motors on one bogie (1C2M), and one motor car features two of such units.

Entering service in 1987 in tandem with the opening of Singapore’s Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system, these trains are the oldest rolling stock currently in operation.

2022年3月21日 · The C151 End-of-Life Upgrading Project was a partially-completed train refurbishment and PMSM retractioning project undertaken by SMRT on Kawasaki Heavy Industries C151 trains. The project involved replacing the propulsion system, HVAC and auxiliary power system (APS), train management system, brake control and the compressor on each train.

2024年10月25日 · The Kawasaki Heavy Industries & CRRC Qingdao Sifang C151C trains are the sixth generation of rolling stock for the North-South and East-West MRT lines. 12 trains of six cars were purchased and have been in passenger service since 30 September 2018. The trains are currently housed at the Bishan, Ulu Pandan, Changi and Tuas train depots.

2024年10月18日 · On 25 September 2024, a major disruption occurred on the East-West Line when a defective axle box was dislodged from a KHI C151 train, causing one bogie to come off the running rail between Dover and Clementi stations.
