
Beechcraft T-34 Mentor - Wikipedia
The Beechcraft T-34 Mentor is an American propeller-driven, single-engined, military trainer aircraft derived from the Beechcraft Model 35 Bonanza. The earlier versions of the T-34, dating from around the late 1940s to the 1950s, were piston-engined. These were eventually succeeded by the upgraded T-34C Turbo-Mentor, powered by a turboprop engine.

In June 1935 the prototype Model C-34 made its first flight, piloted by George Harte. Powered by a 108kW Warner Super Scarab, this was a four-seater which demonstrated its aerodynamic efficiency by achieving a maximum speed of 261km/h, compared with 238km/h for the much higher-powered DC-6B.

The Model C-34 was first produced in 1935 with some 41 examples being built. Progressive refinements were made to the design over the following years until production of the series terminated in 1941.

Not long after introduction of the C-34, Clyde Cessna retired from the aircraft industry, leaving the company to his nephew. The original Airmaster, the C-34, evolved into more advanced versions of the Airmaster. The C-37 had a wider cabin, improved landing gear and electric flaps.
