One of the true highlights at this museum is this CAAC IL-18. A very confusing history with several different IL-18 airframes having been given serial 208. This one in the Museum is a fake 208, and was previously 50852 with the Air Force and B-224 of CAAC. The original 208 was one of the airplanes of Chairman Mao.

This amazing airframe that is still flying for Air Koryo, with the sexy blue propellers, once looked a lot plainer when she was with CAAK. Delivered in 1969, I photographed her in Prague, Czechoslovakia in August 1983. Aeroflot had a strike that summer, resulting in both CAAC (Air China's predecessor) and CAAK flying to parts of Eastern Europe.
