2024年6月5日 · The Shanghai Y-10 is a quad-engined single-aisle jet designed and developed by the Shanghai Aircraft Research Institute in the 1970s. Based on the Boeing 707-320C design, the aircraft used Pratt & Whitney JT3D turbofan engines acquired as spares for the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

The Shanghai Y-10 or Yun-10 (Chinese: 运-10; lit. 'Transporter-10') is a four engined narrow-body jet airliner developed in the 1970s by the Shanghai Aircraft Research Institute.

2009年11月1日 · Although the CAAC originally refused to purchase the Y-10, in January 1981, the General Administration of the Civil Aviation of China submitted its Civil Aviation No.2 (81) document to the Central Leading Group of CPC.

Today, the Chinese are building their second fully designed and built airliner, the Comac C919. However, back in 1980, they flew their first designed and built in-house airliner, the Shanghai Y-10 and it has an interesting (and quite short) history.

2003年9月1日 · Never saw this aircraft before and looks like B707, right? This is the one of two Y10s China ever produced. Sadly, it only flew for several test flights and sat there for ever because of many reasons!! This is a sorrowful story for Chinese aircraft manufacture industrial and I hope China can produce own aircrafts in the near future.
