This site is dedicated to the Canada Cycle & Motor Co. Ltd. From its birth in 1899 until its eventual demise in 1983, it was the quintessential Canadian company. For years growing up in Canada meant riding its bikes in summer and wearing its skates in winter. Its logo was as much a part of the Canadian psyche as the seasons themselves.

2012年4月28日 · Harvey Peace, who had designed the Flyte, was also instrumental in the design of CCM's tube skate (1929) and the CCM Bike-Wagon (1932). A forty year veteran of CCM, Peace lived to see only one year of his bicycle's production, passing away, as he did, on December 12, 1936 at the age of 56.

As I did so, I kept coming across these neat old newspaper ads for CCM bikes, skates and hockey equipment as the store was the authorized dealer for CCM in this area. The ads brought back a lot of memories and I decided I should learn more about CCM since it was such a large part of the James brothers’ operation.

I have never seen a 1966 or 1967 catalog, only a few individual advertisements. Lots of the CCM bikes changed slightly from year to year, even if it was in minute ways (such as details to decals or parts).

2023年7月14日 · Sad to learn that frame materials are no better than hi-ten steel; was under the impression this model was furnished with Reynolds 531 plain gauge as were some earlier CCM top-tier road bikes. My bike does indeed have a VGT Suntour rear derailleur; need to check on the front one's identity as well as for trade-name on the crank-set.
