Canada’s Drug and Health Technology Agency (CADTH) has announced that, as of May 1, 2024, its new operating name will be Canada’s Drug Agency / l’Agence des médicaments du Canada (CDA-AMC). The official launch will occur later this year, and CADTH will be updating its materials and expanding its operations accordingly.

On December 18, 2023, the Government of Canada announced plans to build the CDA from CADTH, in partnership with provinces and territories. This was supported by an investment of $89.5 million over 5 years. In early 2024, the CDATO worked closely with CADTH to support initial implementation and the transfer of these activities to the CDA.
