The CH-53 Sea Stallion (Sikorsky S-65) is a family of American heavy-lift transport helicopters designed and built by the American manufacturer Sikorsky Aircraft.

The CH-53A Sea Stallion was ordered in August 1962 for service with the US Marine Corps (USMC). At the time of its development, it was the largest helicopter designed by the Sikorsky company. The helicopter’s primary mission was cargo transport.

2024年10月8日 · The CH-53 is the older version of the Sikorsky Stallion series, making its maiden flight on October 14, 1964 (as the YCH-53 prototype), with the CH-53A officially entering service with the USMC in 1966.

CH-53A Bureau Number 153304 was the seventy fifth Sea Stallion built by Sikorsky Aircraft. It was accepted by the Marine Corps on January 31, 1967 and delivered to the "Flying Tigers" of Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361 (HMM-361) at MCAS New River, NC.

This CH-53A was assigned to HMH-462 in South Vietnam 1968-1969. Retired in October 1974, and later acquired by the Naval Aviation Museum. In November 2013 it was transferred to the Fort Worth Aviation Museum where it is currently on display.
