This is a collection of CMU-owned photography that is free to any site that uses the university CMS. The photos are organized by topic and CMS-ready, cropped to the required sizes and compressed for speedy load time.

It works well on photographs, naturalistic artwork, and similar material; not so well on lettering, simple cartoons, or line drawings. JPEG handles only still images, but there is a related standard called MPEG for motion pictures.
