2010年5月9日 · its not glue, its TIM (thermal interface material) and yes, its job is to transfer the heat from the CPU to the heatsink. if you remove the heatsink, you must ALWAYS remove the old tim with isopropyl alcohol and then apply a new layer. otherwise you will experience heat issues liek the ones you are getting.

2017年3月22日 · Glue it back, as suggested, RTV Silicone works fine, just about any of them will work, most are meant to deal with engine bay temps, I used the black. Make sure to let it cure, it does take a while, I allowed 12 hours for mine to be totally sure it was not going to move around while remounting.

2019年8月19日 · Apply to cpu not heatsink. The reason is your aim. Nobody is perfect, has perfect aim, you can easily be a few mm off when putting the heatsink down on the cpu. It's OK if the heatsink gets lopsided paste, but not ok for the cpu. Just a small pea or large grain of rice sized blob is all you need, right smack in the center of the cpu.

I have been working on PC's since the mid to late 1980's and IMO any of the most recommended methods (rice grain size dot at center of CPU, one thin line, or two thin lines in an X or using a credit card to apply a thin layer) work fine.
