2022年6月21日 · I am using windows 10 and after a recent update which featured an apparent update to Microsoft Photos, every time i cycle through my pictures using Microsoft Photos as a viewer, when i close the picture, 'Shell Infrastructure Host' shoots up in CPU usage to about 15% and holds that percentage indefinitely.

2018年10月16日 · Go to start menu. Search for default app settings and open it. Under Photo viewer, click on Photos app or Choose a default if none has been set. Select a new default app to open your photos and pictures in the future. If issue persist again I suggest you use the Feedback Hub to submit a bug report detailing your problem. Press Windows key + F.

2025年3月10日 · Whenever I open a picture in the Windows Photo App, the CPU usage immediately skyrockets to 100% (or close to it) and kicks the fan into high gear. Close image and CPU use goes back to baseline. not even photoshop uses this much of my computers memory and power. This problem started a few months ago, right around the time of a Windows update.

2021年11月12日 · My wife was browsing the photo archive on my NAS using the Photos app and that's when it started. I suspect it kicks of a process to index the photos or something similar and that process hogs the CPU and continues even after the app is closed. Logging out stops the process. This is a serious defect as it runs down the battery and heats up the CPU.

2018年8月10日 · If I don't close the photo app for a while it may occur dramatically large ram usage (can goes to 3~4GB) and also the CPU usage is large which make computer frozen for seconds. After kill the photo app process everything back to normal. I tried to open the file location in task manager it shows /windowsapp which is in expected.
