2016年4月20日 · Some pins like power and ground pins not making contact might allow the computer to operate most of the time as there are lots of each. Most other pins would cause the computer to not POST. Also if the bent pin(s) are shorting to other pins, this could cause the computer to not POST, or could damage the CPU and / or motherboard.

2021年2月10日 · The picture isn't 100% clear but it looks like the bent pins I see could be straightened. Use a .5mm Pentel mechanical pencil with lead removed to straighten the pins and stand them upright. If any are lying flat to the CPU use a long needle to lift it up enough to get the pencil tip over it and stand it upright.

2020年2月6日 · Did some research to find bent socket pins was most likely the verdict. So I pulled out the CPU and noticed some very, very slightly bent pins, so using a steak knife I very gently attempted to straighten them (the picture below is the result). Which didn't fix my issue. At this point, I ordered a replacement board to be delivered today.

2015年3月27日 · Don't mess with the pins, they're supposed to be inside the socket. It's not like the older cpu's where the pins were on the cpu and fit into holes in the socket. The pins are now on the socket and the cpu instead has 'pads' where the pins press against when it's locked into place. Everything is normal.

2021年7月15日 · Instead, once you have the pins reasonably straight slide a credit card between the rows, both directions, to get them in alignment. Don't be too aggressive with that as it's easy to push a pin back over and that could be disaster if it's cold-worked as straightening it AGAIN could be all that's needed to break it off.

ANYWAY, when I was removing the CPU from the socket today, I saw one specific pin that was just noticeably bent - to the point where I couldn't ignore. While trying to. bend it back, the pin did broke off.

2021年10月11日 · Under full load the CPU is throttling and hitting its thermal limit of 90 degrees, I use thermal paste from Deepcool. Well the CPU pins are indeed making contact even though I can't see it for myself, how do I know, because I can use the PC normally.
