419 was built in 1907 at a cost of £1,627 and like most of 439 class locomotives it was constructed at the CR company’s St Rollox works in Glasgow. CR419 subsequently became LMS 15189 in 1923 on Grouping and 55189 under British Railways following the nationalisation of the railways in 1948.

The Caledonian Railway 439 Class is a class of 0-4-4 T steam locomotive. It was a development of earlier Caledonian Railway 0-4-4T locomotives, including the 19 Class and 92 Class, and predecessor of the 431 Class. The 439 Class was introduced by John F. McIntosh in 1900 and a modified version was introduced by William Pickersgill in 1915.

The SR 426 / CR 419 roadway widening project will ultimately connect the existing 4-lane roadway at Pine Avenue (near Oviedo High School) to the 4-lane segment of CR 419 at Lockwood Boulevard. The overall estimated project cost is approximately $83 million dollars and is divided into three phases.
