2020年10月23日 · Conrail GP7 locomotive train engine photos, plus Penn Central, Reading Company, Erie Lackawanna, Central Railroad of New Jersey.

Conrail inherited EMD GP7's from the Penn Central (252), Reading Company (17), Erie Lackawanna (71), and the Jersey Central (13). CR placed the units in series 5600-5999. Built between October 1949 and May 1954, EMD powered it's first hood unit with their 16-cylinder supercharged 567B prime mover.

Spotted and shot in the unlikely location of the former T&OC yard in Bucyrus. Date approximate from slide mount (likely shot in early to mid-August, '76).

1980年8月10日 · In a sea of locomotives at Enola in August, 1980, CR GP7 5834 (ex-RDG 632) is ined up with ex-EL SD45 6066 in the fifth line back from U23B 2733.

Part of this acquisition was a group of 17 EMD GP7 locomotives. While several units were put to work immediately with patched numbers and logos, others were repainted into CR’s medium blue scheme- although there was considerable variation from unit to unit.
