Remove the cam cap closest to the exhaust Constant Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) gear. Put a wrench on the hex or square between the cam lobes and gently rock the camshaft to verify it is locked into the gear. If it is not locked in, the exhaust CVVT gear should be replaced.
