2011年3月29日 · Gunpowder vans became remarkably standardised before WW2. The GWR had relatively few new build, finding it easier to convert their Mink wagons. They built a batch of 25 prior to WW2. BR rebuilt some with vacuum brake but the 9ft. wheelbase should have prevented branding as XP (See W105777).

2011年3月30日 · The Gunpowder van design stayed very similar throughout the C20th. The LMS had 195 vans, built unfitted. BR fitted vacuum brake to some, with the vacuum cylinder conventionally beneath the floor (unlike BR wagon conversion). These lasted until replaced by VEAs in the early 1980s. 2022年5月17日 · The sample model is TOPS coded CXV and finished in pristine BR bauxite livery, representi­ng the van in late condition after the fitting of vacuum brakes. Also released recently are the five- and seven-plank SECR/SR open wagons which saw use with BR until the 1960s. The models will be reviewed in a future issue of Rail Express Modeller.
