Chicago Burlington & Quincy 3007 is one of the fastest and most modern steam engines at IRM. It is one of only ten standard-gauge 4-6-4 Hudsons preserved in the country and was built for use hauling express passenger trains at high speed. For many years it was displayed in Quincy, Illinois and it was acquired by IRM in 1995.

Following retirement CB&Q Hudson No. 3007 was donated to the city of Quincy, Illinois where it was displayed for a time in Quinsippi Island Park near the Burlington Route's new bridge over the Mississippi River. This post card view, published by Ray E. White of Quincy in 1966, also shows a barge pushing upstream below the bridge.
