CCDA is the coordinating entity for all climate change related policies and actions in the country. Additionally, it is the designated National Authority under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The CCDA works to help Papua New Guinea adapt to the impacts of climate change and to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. The agency also works to increase the country’s capacity to access international funding for climate-related projects and to engage with the international community on climate change issues.
