Char-Em ISD is a regional education service agency serving the public schools of Charlevoix, Emmet and northern Antrim counties. Our primary mission is to provide leadership and services that enhance the delivery of instruction for our 11 constituent school districts and assisting other public and parochial schools.

Char-Em ISD provides valuable assistance to our local school districts that in turn support students and families. While many of the ISD’s programs serve students directly on a day-to-day business, others work “behind the scenes” to support learning.

Char-Em ISD serves local school districts within Charlevoix, Emmet and northern Antrim counties. The districts within our service area cover approximately 1,000 square miles and collectively operate 11 local public schools, three public school academies and five private schools, serving approximately 8,000 students.
