Chen Biao (c. 204 - c. 237 [a]), courtesy name Wen'ao, was an official and military general of the state of Eastern Wu during the Three Kingdoms period of China. Chen Biao was a son of Chen Wu, a general who served under the warlord Sun Quan in the late Eastern Han dynasty.

Chen’s area of research interest mainly focuses on information theory, signal processing, and foundational theory to machine learning, with applications to wireless communications and sensor networks.

Biao Chen (S'97-M'99) received his B.E. and E.E. in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1992 and 1994 respectively. From 1994 to 1995, he worked at AT&T (China) Inc., Beijing China.

I am a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I am extremely fortunate to work with my advisor, Prof. Xun Huan, the leader of UQ-SciML Group. My current research focuses on Explainable AI, while my previous research focused on Industrial Surface Defect Detection Based on Machine Learning.
