2012年8月2日 · If anything, I'd go with a 235 i6 engine because it is a pressurized engine if you are thinking a chevy 6 to put in, the 216 is a babbit, splash oil engine and mine is coming out this fall for a 327 swap. But i do haveto say, so far it's been bulletproof! And gas mileage is great! I put over 8,000 miles in it in 2 years.

I hate when I go to a car show or event and you see nothing but the same 350 in almost every car. here is a page from California bills speed book. they were raced tons of oil dippin inline sixes.

Here's a Chevy motor question that comes up all the time -- 216 or early 235? Guys are always posting this question. How to identify this early 235 High Torque, digging for numbers and measuring stuff. Attached is a photo of my 1946 High Torque 235 pan which plainly has the number '235' stamped on the right side, big as day.

2007年2月7日 · The intake manifolds are not exaclty the same, but you can run a 216 intake on a 235 with adaptor rings which are readily available. Easiest way to tell a 216 intake is the carb bolt hole spacing which is 2 11/16 for a 216 and 2 15/16 for a 235. Quite a few surface on the 'bay, so look for tattersfield, nicson, thickstun, edmunds.

2024年9月19日 · When I went to fire up my 216 which had been dormant for years in my garage, it fired right up with a rebuilt fuel pump (Then and Now Automotive kit), and rebuilt Carter YF (kit from carbking.) I never even had to prime anything, just cranked it over after putting 5 gallons of gas in the new tank.

2019年4月2日 · That entails removing the vibration damper/pulley, removing the timing cover either pulling the cam out or removing the timing gear (from both engines) and swapping the front plate from the 216 to the 235 and installing a new metal timing gear in place of the fiber gear.

2010年6月22日 · The online manual project seems to have a broken link. I have the maintenance manual for the USA GMC, but mine is Canadian. So the manual explains the 228 instead of the 216. I tried to get the free kit from chevy a few years ago but it seems to me they refused to send to Canada! Maybe it's time to try again.
