Chop Gate (/ ˌtʃɒp ˈjæt / CHOP YAT) [1] is a small village in the North York Moors national park, North Yorkshire, England. [2][3] Historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, the village is situated 7.5 miles (12 km) south east of Stokesley and 12.5 miles (20 km) north of Helmsley. [4]

2015年2月26日 · Stepping carefully through the mud we dropped down to reach the village of Chop Gate, our path joining the road near to an old Wesleyan chapel, almost hidden from the road. The strange location is because the landowner, Lord Feversham, was C of E and totally against a non-conformist church being established in the dale.

2021年12月17日 · Expect big skies, a summit challenge of sorts and amazing views on this walk to the highest point on the North York Moors. Eager for adventure, my teenage son prefers walks up what he calls shapely peaks. Round Hill (the clue’s in the name) doesn’t quite fit that description. Flat hill might even be pushing it a bit.
