Clanton 14 St., also known as C14th St, is a Chicano street gang in Los Angeles and is also the oldest Chicano gang and one of the oldest gangs in Los Angeles. The gang was named for Clanton Street which the City of Los Angeles renamed 14th Place during World War II so war-related industries had easy addressing.

The 18th Street Gang was formed in the Rampart District of Los Angeles in the 1960s by Mexican-Americans and other immigrant youths who were not accepted into existing Hispanic gangs, specifically the Clanton 14 gang.

IN THE 1960’S THE BOUNDARIES OF WS CLANTON’S FIRST HOOD STRETCHED FROM OLYMPIC BLVD. ON THE NORTH, HOOVER STREET ON THE WEST, THE SANTA MONICA FREEWAY ON THE SOUTH, AND FIGUEROA STREET ON THE EAST. 14TH STREET RAN EAST TO WEST STRAIGHT THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE HOOD.

Clanton 14 was created in 1921 on Clanton Street in Los Angeles, California. During World War II Los Angeles renamed Clanton Street to 14th Street, which is why they are called Clanton 14. In 1942, member Frank Torres was shot by a member of the First Street Gang at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum during a city high school track meet.
