Check Engine & VSC Lights - 2007 RX 350 - HELP!! — Car
I've taken the car to two different local garages who performed diagnostics on the care and the 5 codes indicated it may have an issue with an ignition coil but the car idles, runs and drives perfectly smooth like new. The other 4 codes relate to the traction control and ABS that point toward the Steering Angle Sensor potentially being bad.
1996 Dakota - No Spark from Coil — Car Forums at Edmunds.com
Well it could be a number of things but a common fault would be your camshaft positioning sensor. If the PCM does not see a signal from the CPS it will not ground the ASD relay and you won't get any spark from the coil. d The CPS is in the distributor, looks like a flat plate.
Mazda Tribute Coil and Spark Problems — Car Forums at
In my opinion, either the plant got a really bad batch of plugs in 2005, or the coil packs are too sensitive to impedance/load variations. Whatever the case, you may be able to petition Mazda about the coil costs, since a TSB apparently exists for the spark plugs and their potential for damage to the coils.
Town and Country Rough Running, P2308 code, Coil? Wires?
Update: I traced a bad coil driver signal going into the coil all the way back to back to the pcm for coil#3. I determined the pcm had a bad coil driver for the #3 coil. I ordered the remanned computer from Auto Computer Exchange in FL. I installed the new computer. It seems to work. The computer has a lifetime warranty so I think I am golden.
What is the numbering sequence for ignition coils in a 2004
Those are just thumb caps and they can be removed with a little pressure and simply unscrew them. A pair of needle nose pliers can be used to push them if they are too tight to remove by hand. The #2 coil is the second one in order from the timing belt. So standing in front of the car, the timing belt is on your left the cylinder ID's are 1,2,3,4.
VW Ignition Coil Problems? — Car Forums at Edmunds.com
Many folks on vwvortex.com and clubb5.com are reporting the exact same problem - car shakes, MIL flashing, coil pack dead. VW used to replace all 4 when this happens, since the other 3 coils are being "over worked". They've changed their stance and are replacing only the bad coil pack due to short supplies. This was also mentioned in AutoWeek.

ignition coil replacement — Car Forums at Edmunds.com
Bingo, good pic: The ignition coil sits right at the top of the engine. Easy to find because all 4 spark plug wires lead right to it. You unplug those 4 wires, remove 2 screws, replace it with the new one, replace 2 screws, plus in 4 wires. Seriously, it's that easy. And there's only one ignition coil, so it's a cheap fix.
